Born and raised in LA to Canadian parents Luke Humphrey is truly a North American Actor. After developing a love of theater and acting in his first feature in high school, Luke decided to pursue his passion and move to NYC to study acting. While at NYU he studied at the Stella Adler Studio through the Tisch school of the Arts. In his third year he was discovered by Broadway director Des McAnuff who brought Luke to the Stratford Festival in Canada to work alongside Christopher Plummer in William Shakespeares The Tempest. Luke performed in several seasons at the festival quickly moving into leading roles including d’Artagnan in the Three Musketeers, Shakespeare in the North American premier of Shakespeare in Love, and Murph in the original production of Taking Shakespeare, among many others.
His work at the Stratford Festival quickly put Luke in the position of one of the countries most sought after leading men of the stage. He played Benjamin Braddock in the Graduate in Montreal, originated the role of Ivan in Wormwood at Tarragon in Toronto, and played Spike in the Canadian premier of the Tony award winning vanya and sonia and masha and spike at MTC and Mirvish in Toronto.
Lukes stage career naturally started expanding into Film and TV with appearances on Motive, Saving Hope, and Murdoch Mysteries. This season Luke has been very busy working on some very exciting projects coming soon to tv and streaming. Stay tuned to find out more.
